Faye Perkins
Has been painting as a hobbyist on and off over a 30-year period. Influenced by the Australian Heidelberg School and French Impressionists, working mainly in oils, on site or from her photographs, most scenes depict her love of the Australian countryside, trees, old buildings or her Piscean need to see water in some form, and try to capture the atmosphere and feeling of the subject which are conveyed in calming, restful soft tones more reminiscent of water colours than oils, yet bold knife work or vibrant colours can be displayed just as effectively.
