The best way to appreciate anything is to actually try to do it yourself. With this in mind I began taking lessons about 20 years ago working mainly in oils with some pastel and coloured pencil. I now work mainly in watercolour which I enjoy. I attend classes with Mary Tulloch at the St. George and Sutherland Community College and plein air sessions with The Sutherland Shire Art Society.
I also take part in workshops, the paint-a-thon and demonstrations. All of this together with library books have influenced my work which covers landscapes, seascapes, still life and flower paintings. This is a really enjoyable pastime which helps you appreciate your surroundings.
My works have been hung with The Sutherland Shire Art Society (two Highly Commended awards), at the Community College displays, Hazelhurst Community Gallery, The Sutherland Shire Arts & Craft Fair (1st prize for watercolour)
