I was born in Waratah, NSW and spent my childhood in Woodburn, a little town on the far north of NSW where my father was the local chemist. I always liked drawing and on leaving school spent one term at East Sydney Technical College. “There’s no money in art” everyone said, so I eventually took the sensible course and became a secretary. (Which incidentally I loved). Then came marriage, children, empty nest, travelling and the loss of my dear husband. I felt that now was a good time to take up art as a hobby. I studied with artists I admire, Margarette Looney, Craig Taylor, Vivian Gregory and eventually Ros Psakis who, at this late stage of my life taught me basics I didn’t know I didn’t know!
I’ve now decided to strike out on my own. I paint in the Impressionist style with colours to light up your day. Who knows where this will lead. Life is exciting when you are an artist. Can’t wait to get started.
